Sliced Bread

Just put together bit of information I heard at Staff and overheard conversations around the office.

We have a need for sliced bread, sandwich bread.

We distribute the makings for peanut butter sandwiches (among other food) to our clients.  Because of local bakeries restructuring, the donations of bread has been slowed to a trickle.

If you are able, please bring by some loaves of sandwich bread for distribution to our clients.

We are open for donations Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.  Our address is 9820 Dino Drive, Suite 140, Elk Grove, CA  95624.

Thank you for helping us out.

EG Elementary Student Council Volunteers

Student Council members from Elk Grove Elementary came in recently ready to work.  They assembled bags of canned food.  Those bags of canned food are combined with other types of food (pasta, bread, fruit, peanut butter, beans, etc.) to make up the food boxes we distribute to our clients.

This small but mighty group of students worked through many cases of canned goods and helped our regular volunteers get ahead of schedule.  Thanks, EG Elementary School Student Council!

If you or your group would like to volunteer, check out our website, or call Deb at 916-685-8453.

Sprouts Farmers Market's Grab 'n Give

Scott Kahler, Store Manager of Elk Grove Store #230

The second annual Grab ‘n Give program at Sprouts Farmers Market resulted in over 400 Holiday bags of food donated to Elk Grove Food Bank Services.  Customers could purchase a pre-filled grocery bag and Scott Kahler, Store Manager of the Elk Grove Store #230, happily donated the Holiday Bags on behalf of his customers.

Our food distribution programs benefit from this huge donation.   These programs serve approximately 3,300 people each month.  We thank all who participated in this incredible effort.  Your generosity helps our neighbors get through tough times.
