Texas Roadhouse Donation - the photos

Remember our previous posting about the beautiful coats that the staff of Texas Roadhouse collected? Well, through the cellphone of a staffer, some cellphone magic by her technically gifted family, and some creative emailing, we finally managed to get the photos here.

Three bags full of coats!

A brand-new coat to keep a client warm.

Don't forget about the food drive Texas Roadhouse in Elk Grove is having in January. I can taste the Baby Blossoms, and their ribs, and their rolls........

She will start training in mid-January to work as Assistant Manager at the new Pizza Hut on Big Horn and Bruceville Road.

Country Sewing Center's On-going Support

Bill from Country Sewing Center popped by the office today to deliver some of the food donated at his shop for their annual food drive benefiting EGFBS. Bill explained that each Holiday season for the past few years they have put out a collection barrel to encourage their clients to help out those who are less fortunate in our community.

It was so nice to see one of our local business people taking the time to encourage his clientele to be more community-minded, during the busy Holiday season.

P. S. Bill used a box from one of his sewing machines to bring in the food donated at his shop. I wish I had my camera with today.

Texas Roadhouse Food Drive

Just had a visit from an employee from Texas Roadhouse. She brought in three bags full of coats. She told us about the in-house competition they held to gather these beautiful, warm garments.

That's not all! She handed me a flyer explaining the benefits to participating in their food drive this January. Wow! What a good deal and you help out your neighbors in need in the process.

Belated Thanks to Kaweah Container, Inc.

Kaweah Container, Inc. donated 15,575 boxes for
use in our food distribution programs.

Before this wonderful donation, we reused and made do with a mish-mash of grocery bags and boxes our ever resourceful staff and volunteers scrounged up.

Packed Wellness Bags (boxes) sit ready for distribution.

Thank you to Kaweah Container, Inc. our food distribution will be more streamlined. With uniformly-sized containers, we can more efficiently get food to our neighbors in need.

Dustin's Back!

This is the same Dustin from a couple of days ago.

Dustin was back, this time with new toys. This kind and big-hearted young man used his own money to buy some of the toys, and his Uncle John helped with the rest.

Some of the toys donated by Dustin

Volunteers and staff watched with smiles on their faces as Dustin went to work distributing toys to the children in line for our emergency food distribution. Dustin's kindness and generosity brought some Christmas joy to those who were at EGFBS this Friday before Christmas.

P. S. Volunteers want to send their thanks to Dustin's Uncle John for providing them lunch. I hear it was delicious and very unexpected. Thanks!

Pepsi's Shoe Drive

Jeff Pugh from the Pepsi corporate office dropped off 90 pairs of shoes that they collected during their shoe drive for the Holidays.

We had a couple of photos of the generous people from Pepsi who delivered these shoes for our clients' precious feet; but the photos were too blurry to post.

We at EGFBS appreciate and thank Pepsi for their continued support.
