Elk Grove's dynamic duo, Mayor Steve Detrick and Vice Mayor Jim Cooper, have organized a Charity Casino Night benefiting Elk Grove Food Bank Services. The event will be held on Friday, April 8, 2011, at Strikes Family Entertainment on Laguna Boulevard. The fun starts at 7:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m.

Friends and family who vacation in Nevada often talk about "making their donations" to the casinos. With this clever fundraiser, you can make a donation that will truly make a difference to those in need in our community, and have an enjoyable evening out.
Thank you to our Mayor Steve Detrick and Vice Mayor Jim Cooper for this incredible fundraising event! With the continued, faithful support of our City Council EG Food Bank Services can continue to fill the basic needs of neighbors who have fallen on hard times. Thank you!

Thank You To All
Elk Grove Food Bank Services would like to thank everyone involved in our latest Empty Bowls fundraiser. It took a group of dedicated volunteers to put together this annual event: ones from our Board of Directors, staff and our faithful community volunteers.
A huge thank you to all of you who attended our Third Annual Empty Bowls event. We appreciate your support in making this fundraiser a huge success.

Needs at the Clothes Closet
Our usually bubbly and upbeat Clothes Closet program manager, Susan, has been a bit subdued lately. The Clothes Closet is very low on socks, underwear and shoes for children, and she is concerned about the shortage.
"These items are usually donated new, and these donations have not been coming in." Susan related her worry for our youngest clients. "We cannot fill client requests for these necessary items and these little ones have to go without."
If you are able, please consider donating a package of child-sized socks, underwear, or a pair of shoes to our Clothes Closet.
For more information, please call (916) 685-8453, extension 3
