Eagle Scout candidate, Nick Crawford, completed designing, planning and constructing a pallet cover for Elk Grove Food Bank Services.  Crawford and members from Troop 007 spent more than 185 hours over eight official build days creating the pallet cover.  TNT Fireworks and Total Service Logistics aided Crawford in this project by providing a covered work area and transportation of completed components to the final construction site.

All Signed Up for the Run 4 Independence!

Just got all of the registration forms turned in for my family.  The kids will be virtual runners, as they have obligations out of the area this summer.  Hub will be running the 10K, I will be walking (slowly) the 5K.

If you want to register for our Run, you can do so at the website.

The Run 4 Independence is held on the last Saturday in June, this year:  Saturday, June 29, 2013.  The event includes 5K and 10K courses and two different Fun Runs for the kids.

Proceeds from the Run 4 Independence benefit Elk Grove Food Bank Services, a non-profit dedicated to alleviating hunger, developing programs to build client self-sufficiency and providing an opportunity for volunteerism.  The work of EGFBS benefits over 3,300 individuals from the Elk Grove area each month.

Senior Brown Bag Easter Treat

For Easter Rosa thought a tiny treat for her senior clients might brighten up their day.  Robin and Rosa assembled goody bags from what we received through donations.

They had Peeps and other candy.

Looks like Rosa's efforts worked at our Season's distribution.

Our senior clients at our Senior Brown Bag distribution at Dino Drive seem happy with their Easter goody bags.

Mobile Pantry @ Franklin

Once a month, our clients in the Franklin area receive food and clothing through our Mobile Pantry program.

Our clients who live and work in the remote part of Franklin do not have transportation to come to our warehouse on Dino Drive for emergency food distribution.

Rosa and her team of volunteers assembled and transported food boxes out to Point Pleasant United Methodist Church for our monthly distribution.

These photos are from our distribution a few months ago.  Rosa and I finally had some free time to sit down and figure out how to get the photos off of her phone and on to the blog.  We will have more photos of Rosa's work within our community now that we have the knowledge.

Some of our youngest clients in the Franklin area.  So cute!
